Buying Guide: Key Factors When Choosing Printers with Ink Included
Ink Supply and Replacement
Pay attention to the length and terms of the ink included. Instant Ink subscriptions provide automatic ink delivery and may save money but require monthly fees after the trial ends. MegaTank printers offer high-volume ink without subscription, minimizing refill frequency.
Print Quality and Speed
Consider print speeds (pages per minute) for color and black & white according to your needs. Photo printers offer borderless printing and vibrant colors, while office printers often prioritize fast text and graphics printing.
Functionality and Features
All-in-one printers with scanning, copying, auto document feeders (ADF), and duplex printing increase versatility. Touchscreens and smart connectivity (Wi-Fi, mobile apps, Alexa) enhance ease of use.
Connectivity Options
Wireless connectivity is essential for modern setups. Dual-band Wi-Fi offers better stability and faster connections. Check for mobile printing support via apps, AirPrint, or Google Cloud Print for convenience.
Operating Costs
Examine ink cost per page and availability. Subscription services like HP Instant Ink can reduce costs but commit you to ongoing fees. Large ink tank models like Canon MegaTank provide low-cost printing with less hassle.
Intended Use
For home users or students, an easy-to-use printer with basic functions and included ink is ideal. Business users may prioritize speed, volume capacity, and automatic features.
