Buying Guide: What to Consider When Choosing a Printer With Long-Lasting Ink
When selecting a printer that comes with an extended ink supply, keep the following factors in mind to ensure the device precisely fits your needs:
- Ink Supply Duration and Page Yield: Understand how many pages the included ink covers—this varies by model and print type (color vs. black and white). Choose a printer that supports your typical printing volume to maximize savings.
- Print Volume and Speed: Consider how many pages you print monthly and the printer’s pages per minute (ppm). Faster printers benefit busy offices, while slower speeds may suffice for occasional home use.
- Ink Technology: Ink tanks like those from HP’s Smart Tank and Epson’s EcoTank offer cost-efficient refills compared to cartridges. Cartridge-free systems reduce interruptions and mess, ideal for large printing needs.
- Functionality: Evaluate additional features such as scanning, copying, faxing, automatic document feeders, and duplex (two-sided) printing based on your workflow requirements.
- Connectivity: Wireless printing, mobile app compatibility, Ethernet, and cloud printing options add flexibility for various devices and remote printing needs.
- Print Quality: For quality-critical tasks like photo printing or marketing materials, opt for models with high resolution and borderless printing options.
- Brand Reliability and Support: Choose brands known for dependable hardware and accessible customer service to minimize downtime.
Assessing these multi-faceted perspectives ensures you pick the best printer with 2 years of ink supply that delivers cost savings, convenience, and quality for your specific printing needs.
