Buying Guide for Wide Format Sublimation Printers
When selecting a wide format sublimation printer, consider these key factors to ensure you get a device that matches your printing demands and business needs.
Print Quality and Technology
Look for printers featuring advanced printheads like PrecisionCore technology, which controls droplet size for sharper images and better color gradation. Reliable sublimation ink brands such as Epson’s genuine inks guarantee brilliant colors and long-lasting prints.
Media Size and Handling
Wide format printers vary in maximum media width, commonly 24 inches or more. Choose a model with both roll and sheet paper support if you require flexibility. Automatic feeders and built-in cutters improve efficiency for high-volume and varied projects.
Connectivity Options
Wireless capabilities (Wi-Fi, Ethernet) enhance printing convenience from multiple devices or mobile apps. USB ports are standard, but cloud printing solutions offered by brands like Epson allow remote operations, adding workflow flexibility.
Ink System and Cost Efficiency
Printers with refillable EcoTank ink systems reduce cartridge waste and cost per print. If you print frequently, investing in a model with high-capacity ink bottles can save money and reduce interruptions.
User Interface and Ease of Use
A color touchscreen or intuitive control panel, bundled user guides, and included software can simplify setup and daily operation. Consider if customer support or remote installation assistance is available.

- Auto sheet feeder: Speeds up printing multiple sheets.
- Dust-resistant paper trays: Protect print media for higher-quality results.
